History of Modica Bros.
In 1963, J.C. Modica, a Lamar University scholarship student, drew on his experience helping his father run gas stations to start his own tire business. Using a closed cafe near his parents’ truck stop in Beaumont, he launched J.C.’s Tire Supply.
After college and Army Reserve service, J.C., with brothers Tommy and Sammy, opened the first Modica Bros. store in 1970 at Washington Blvd and 11th Street. Known as “The Kid,” he grew the business through faith, hard work, sound finances, and hiring the best employees, expanding to serve communities across Southeast Texas.
